Automotive Mechanic Training in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

In the 51-week Automotive Technology program, you’ll learn everything from simple engine systems to power and performance machines. As a graduate from the Dallas/Fort Worth campus, you earn an associate degree and are prepared to test for ASE certification.

Diesel Mechanic Training in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

From truck brakes and chassis to diesel engines and fuel systems, UTI’s 45-week Diesel Technology program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to start a career as a diesel technician. Upon graduation, you earn a diploma and are prepared to complete exams to become ASE certified.

Welding Training in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

In the 36-week Welding Technology training program, you’ll learn four different welding processes. You'll also have the opportunity to train with VRTEX® virtual welders to practice your welding technique in a simulated environment. As a graduate, you'll earn a diploma and be prepared to test for welding certifications.

A graduate of UTI’s ASE Education Foundation-accredited Automotive and Diesel programs can substitute his or her training for one year of work experience toward ASE’s two-year work requirement.

GET YOUR ASSOCIATE DEGREE

UTI Dallas/Fort Worth awards Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degrees to Automotive Technology II and Automotive/Diesel Technology II graduates. All other graduates receive diplomas.

GET YOUR DIPLOMA

UTI awards diplomas to graduates of our Automotive and Diesel technician training programs, as well as our Welding program.

  • What is the classroom learning like?

    UTI follows a blended learning model, which includes a mix of online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 This type of training is modeled after what’s used in the industry today and can provide more flexibility for students.

    UTI’s core programs follow this style, except for Welding, Collision Repair & Refinish Technology, and CNC Machining. These programs follow a hands-on learning model.

  • Are academic classes such as math, science or English required?

    While not separate classes, math and science aligned with the learning skills are incorporated into the course teachings, along with industry terminology that technicians need to succeed.

  • Are students required to have experience in order to attend?

    No, our curriculum does not require prior experience and is specifically designed to teach the skills necessary to pursue a career as a entry-level technician.

  • What credentials will I hold when I graduate?

    Graduates earn either a diploma or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree, depending on the program and campus, with the possibility of additional credentials.

  • Can students work while attending UTI?

    Yes, students can work and attend school if needed. Our Career Services team can help identify local job openings based on a student’s schedule.
