INTRODUCTION TO CUMMINS AND HEAVY-DUTY ENGINES

Receive training on electrical diagnosis using Cummins procedures and computer-based software.

HEAVY-DUTY ENGINE OVERHAUL

Learn proper teardown, inspection and assembly procedures using Cummins warranty specs. Students will also receive training and testing to be qualified on the following engines: NOW and ISX CM870/871

HEAVY-DUTY ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED ENGINES

Learn the diagnosis and repair of cooling systems, fuel systems, and aftertreatment emission-related components and diagnostics on Cummins ISX and ISM engines.

Midrange and Heavy-Duty Engines

You’ll see ISX15 CM2250 engines as well as ISB/ISC/ISL CM2150 engines as you learn the methods to diagnose and repair their cooling, fuel and intake air systems.

EARN MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Graduates earn Cummins Qualifications that prepare them to do warranty work at a Cummins Distributor or Authorized Dealer.

You must complete one of the following Diesel Technology core curriculum programs from UTI or another program certified by the ASE Education Foundation:

Technology I: CPGN- Diesel Only; All Diesel Courses
Technology I: CPGN- Auto/Diesel; All Diesel Core Courses
Technology II: CPGN- Diesel Only; All Diesel Courses
Technology II: CPGN- Auto/Diesel; All Diesel Core Courses

Can students change sessions in which they are enrolled if their circumstances change?

Student requests to move to another session will be evaluated based on the reason for the request and class availability.
Are you accredited?

Yes. All UTI/MMI/NASCAR Tech locations are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

Yes. Accreditation promotes institutional accountability by systematically and comprehensively evaluating institutions based upon established criteria.

What credentials will I hold when I complete the Cummins elective?

Each student who successfully completes the program courses and the related testing for Cummins Engines qualifications will be classified as a CMI Level 1 Technician.
