SEE WHAT YOU'LL LEARN Learn the fundamentals of Cummins Power Generation systems and the critical role they play in both commercial and personal applications. Take a look at a few of the areas you’ll cover in generator technician training. BASIC CONCEPTS OF POWER GENERATION Learn the basic operation of a generator, the types of generators, ratings and features. Students will also learn the importance of electrical safety throughout the program. ELECTRONICS The Power and Industrial Electronics Learning system will teach students how to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, circuits, and systems used in Power Generation machine applications INDUSTRY-RELEVANT SKILLS Students will learn industry-relevant skills including how to operate, install, and analyze the performance alternators and synchronous motors. Students will also learn the skills needed to do preventative maintenance on all size generators. EARN MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Students will have the opportunity to earn 3 Cummins Qualifications in Fundamentals of AC Generators, Fundamentals of Controls, and Fundamentals of Transfer Switches.

EARN MANUFACTURER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN STATUS Students who complete the Cummins Power Generation curriculum will be classified as a CMI Level 1 Technician as defined in the Service Technician Global Position Profiles.
