WELDING TECHNOLOGY TRAINING PROGRAM OVERVIEW

You could learn to weld in UTI’s Welding Technology program, which provides the hands-on training needed to prepare for a flexible career in industries from automotive fabrication to aerospace.1

36 weeks From start to finish
12 campuses Hosting the Welding program
4 processes Combination welder training developed with Lincoln Electric including GMAW, SMAW, FCAW & GTAW processes

5 Reasons to Choose the UTI Welding Program

  1. Train and graduate in less than 9 months

  2. Dedicated teams to help search for financial aid,10 housing and employment

  3. Train with VRTEX® virtual welders

  4. Learn to become a combination welder by training in 4 different welding processes:
  5. Curriculum developed with Lincoln Electric, a leader in the manufacturing and design of welding technology

WELDING TRAINING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Students in UTI’s Welding program learn about the procedures and equipment required to weld using gas metal arc (GMAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), flux-cored arc (FCAW) and gas tungsten arc (GTAW) welders. Students also learn how to weld in the flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions used for plate or sheet metal, and the fixed, rolling and overhead positions used for pipe.

UTI GTAW Welding Course

GAS TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING (TIG)

This course introduces students to gas tungsten arc welding, its characteristics and safety. Using the information they learned in previous courses, students develop the skills necessary to make gas tungsten arc welds on different metals, using both direct and alternating current methods.

UTI Virtual Course

VRTEX 360 “VIRTUAL WELDERS”

Application to safely practice welding before learning actual SMAW, (stick) GMAW, (MIG) and FCAW (flux-cored) processes in the lab.

UTI Pipe Welding Course

PIPE WELDING

The pipe welding course introduces students to the different methods of welding pipe and tube using multiple types of metal transfer. Students learn the welding positions used, from horizontal rolling to stationary or vertical, along with how to use the correct tools and equipment for cutting and beveling of joints during assembly.

WELDING CLASSES

Developed in conjunction with Lincoln Electric, UTI’s Welding training program curriculum includes MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored welding processes throughout the 12 hands-on courses.

SPARK YOUR FUTURE

UTI’s 36-week Welding Technology Training program prepares graduates for the industry in less than one year. The program was built in conjunction with Lincoln Electric and prepares you for the manufacturing, construction, railway transportation and agriculture industries.5
