Hands-On Labs

Hands-on learning is a core component of training at UTI. Our students learn best by doing, and they have the opportunity to do so in our state-of-the-industry labs at each campus.

Our labs are equipped with some of the latest tools and technology, so students are able to train on the very equipment used by technicians in the field today. This allows them to develop and refine their skills as well as gain confidence in their abilities, making the transition to a career a seamless process.

Whether it’s putting a NASCAR racing engine on the dyno, troubleshooting a Mercury Marine outboard engine or learning to TIG weld using equipment from Lincoln Electric, our students gain valuable hands-on experience they can take with them as they pursue careers in their chosen field.

Preparing for Lifelong Learning

In addition to hands-on skills, today’s technicians must have strong computer skills in order to keep up with the latest technological updates impacting the industry. This is why technology is integrated into each program.

Students at UTI utilize online tools like Blackboard Ultra throughout the course of their training. This not only allows them to become familiar with navigating a digital platform, but it provides the flexibility to access their coursework at any time. It also gives them the opportunity to receive one-on-one instruction by reaching out to their instructors online.

Additionally, being able to complete digital training sets the stage for lifelong learning. As technicians go into the industry, they will be required to complete ongoing career training, much of which is done online. Being familiar with this type of learning gives graduates an advantage when it comes time to advance their career by acquiring additional knowledge.
