ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Students in the Peterbilt MSAT program get hands-on training in a lab at UTI Dallas/Fort Worth.

UTI’s Diesel Technology program is designed to build your base knowledge from the ground up, so no prior experience is required. Throughout the course of the program, you’ll take a series of courses that cover a variety of different aspects of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery — from engine service and repair to electronic systems and technology.

As a student in the program, you’ll follow UTI’s blended learning model, which combines online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 The program was designed this way to mirror the type of training technicians complete in the field today.

DIESEL DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS IN DFW

When choosing a training program, it’s important to consider the graduation documents you’ll receive. These documents can help demonstrate your level of commitment to future employers.

At the Dallas/Fort Worth campus, graduates of the Diesel Technology program earn diplomas. If they choose to take the Automotive & Diesel program, they can earn an Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degree.

Additionally, graduates are prepared to test for ASE certification, and can substitute their training for one of the two years of work experience required to become ASE certified.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

The Dallas/Fort Worth campus is proud to offer UTI’s 12-week Peterbilt Technician Institute (PTI) training. This Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training program (MSAT) can be taken in addition to the core diesel program to help students gain manufacturer-specific skills.15
