About the UTI Rancho Cucamonga, CA Campus

Located in the heart of Southern California, Universal Technical Institute’s Rancho Cucamonga campus is a place where you can snowboard in the morning, surf in the afternoon and off-road in the desert the following day. That’s the allure of a popular area with a proximity to land, sea and desert.

Rancho Cucamonga is also a hub for trucks and vehicles — every technician’s dream! Located by the hustle and bustle of local businesses, trucks and vehicles are constantly going through the facility, which means skilled technicians and welders are needed to get the job done. This demand creates exciting opportunities for aspiring technicians and welders, making UTI Rancho Cucamonga the perfect place to train.1

What Makes UTI Rancho Cucamonga Unique?

Opened in 1998 and in its current location since 2004, UTI Rancho Cucamonga is 147,227 square feet with 56 classrooms and labs. The campus offers six core programs — Automotive, Diesel and Welding, Wind, Industrial Maintenance, and Robotics & Automation — in addition to specialized training programs with  Ford and Toyota, making it a popular destination for those interested in pursuing careers in these industries. (Industrial Maintenance Technician program coming to UTI Rancho Cucamonga.)

Rancho Cucamonga offers three sessions students can choose from, which makes it a great choice for career transitioners who are looking for flexibility and would benefit from evening class sessions. Not only that, the Rancho Cucamonga campus is a degree-granting institution, as students can earn an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in some Automotive and Automotive & Diesel programs upon graduation.

Dedicated to Student Success

UTI Rancho Cucamonga is dedicated to providing students with the resources they need to succeed. Instructors and the Student Services team work closely to ensure students are supported both in and out of the classroom.

Rancho Cucamonga instructors and staff have created a strong community approach. According to campus president Migdalia Vazquez-Valle, when students feel supported and are proud to call school their second home, they feel like they’re part of something greater and are motivated to succeed. This is why the Rancho Cucamonga campus strives to create an environment that is inclusive to all students.

Many students from the Rancho Cucamonga campus have gone on to pursue careers in the diesel and automotive industries, some in only a mere seven months.5 And three days a year, on Wednesdays, the campus hosts a local career fair, where they invite employers to interview students who are getting ready to begin their automotive, diesel and welding careers.

Employers from top brands are invited to these career fairs to give students relevant, in-the-field jobs. Companies like Penske, Toyota, Velocity trucking and Audi of Ontario have been among the attendees, and many times offers are given to students on the spot.1

Success Stories

There are countless success stories that come from the Rancho Cucamonga campus. One in particular involves a certain student, a middle child who was getting into trouble, but who turned his life around and started following in his father’s footsteps. This student attended UTI Rancho Cucamonga and even got selected for the prestigious BMW school.

But there’s more. One former student even won the mikeroweWORKS Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship, and another Rancho Cucamonga graduate currently works for Jay Leno’s Garage.

Student success stories like these are what keep instructors and staff going. UTI Rancho Cucamonga is committed to student success, providing them with the support they need to focus on their training and to achieve their goals.

Community Involvement

What makes this campus tick? According to Vazquez-Valle, “Our approach is to build community, especially with the local businesses and government officials.”

The campus is involved with the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, which has provided a great opportunity to tell the UTI story and gain the support of the community. UTI also gives back by participating in toy drives, car shows that raise money for charity and more.

The World Needs More Technicians and Welders

As you can see, the opportunities for skilled technicians and welders are abundant. With UTI’s commitment to supporting students and providing them with industry-aligned curriculum, the Rancho Cucamonga campus is a great place to start your training.
