MIAT Houston Campus in Transition

MIAT Houston will merge with UTI Houston in 2024. We'll streamline program offerings and offer enhanced support services to improve the training experience.

Housing While You Attend the MIAT Houston Campus

The MIAT campus in Houston, Texas, teams with Collegiate Housing Services (CHS) to assist students who need help securing housing. CHS provides a full range of housing services and works closely with students to determine the best options. Below are the services available to assist in your relocation.

SHARED HOUSING

Collegiate Housing Services (CHS) offers a shared housing program in full-size apartments that are typically within 10 miles of campus. Apartment rent, furniture, basic utilities and roommate matching are all included in your monthly housing payment. All students are on individual leases, which locks in pricing that isn’t impacted by roommates.

The typical setup is four students in a two-bedroom apartment. Some CHS arrangements allow for private rooms or 21-and-older options.

Is this the right fit for you?

  • Moving to the area by yourself
  • OK with sharing space
  • Individual lease tailored to your graduation date

Visit the CHS website to complete your application and get more information about CHS’ shared housing program, including apartment locations and pricing.

REFERRAL HOUSING

Want to live on your own or with friends and manage the rent, utilities and daily ins-and-outs? The Collegiate Housing Services apartment locator program might be your answer.

CHS has a list of prescreened apartment communities near your campus. In most cases, they've worked out favorable rental rates for students leasing apartments. The program allows you to rent your own place from the apartment community, then you are responsible for your own roommates, shared rent payment, furniture and utilities.

With the exception of rooms for rent, this option tends to be more expensive and typically requires good credit or a cosigner, so make sure to budget appropriately before you arrive for school.

Is this the right fit for you?

  • Private apartment
  • Relocating with a family or children
  • Relocating with pets
