The Opportunity

Students joining Sunstate will enter into our one-of-a-kind Apprentice Mechanic Training Program, where they will receive hands-on, paid training while working on a wide variety of construction machines ranging from small tools to heavy equipment. Upon successful completion of the two-year program, graduates will receive a full set of tools and a toolbox to help them succeed in their new role as a Line Mechanic, Field Service Mechanic or Small Engine Mechanic.

As an incoming Apprentice Mechanic, students will be assigned a shop mentor and will receive team support, guidance and ongoing training to hone their skills for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, ignition, and pneumatic systems, diesel and gas engines, drivetrains, and more.

Students can expect to work individually within a team setting that is supportive, collaborative and goal-oriented.
