Have you ever considered training for a career in the diesel industry? Universal Technical Institute (UTI) offers a 45-week training program7 that’s designed to prepare students for entry-level roles in the field. This program is offered at campuses nationwide, including UTI Sacramento.
The Diesel Technology program is designed to build your knowledge from the ground up. From transport refrigeration to truck brakes and chassis, students explore key topics in the diesel industry, helping to prepare them to service today’s engines and trucks.
The Sacramento campus follows UTI’s blended learning model, which means students complete online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 This style of training is designed to mimic the type of learning that occurs in the field!

Meet UTI graduate Nick Genemaras. He graduated from the Diesel Technology program at the UTI Lisle campus and landed a job with CIT Trucks.5
At the Sacramento campus, graduates of the 45-week Diesel Technology program earn diplomas. They’re also prepared to test for ASE certifications and can substitute their training for one of the two years of work experience required to become ASE certified.
The diesel training offered at UTI Sacramento is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the industry. However, diesel graduates aren’t limited to just one path — as with any industry, over time, they may be able to advance in their careers with hard work.
